About CodeStrux Tech

A studio based in San Nicolás, Cartago, Costa Rica. The people who design a system are the ones who build it, deploy it, and keep it running — we treat infrastructure and software as one discipline.

Alejandro Araya Jiménez

AI & Systems Developer · co-founder · aaj@codestrux.tech

Alejandro Araya Jiménez is co-founder of CodeStrux Tech, where most of his work today is building AI systems. He built the AI layer of Stratos, the studio's WhatsApp Business inbox for LATAM SMBs — a Claude-powered agent that answers customer conversations across text, transcribed voice notes, and images, working alongside a live agent inbox, with agent actions logged to an audit trail. He has also taken an AI customer-service agent live inside a client platform, and shipped an AI support portal that routes questions through tiered open-weight models.

He is the author of relay-mesh, CodeStrux's open-source multi-agent orchestrator (github.com/CodeStrux/relay-mesh): it fans a goal out to a fleet of parallel agents — recon, planning, execution, verification — running on open-weight models via OpenRouter, coordinated through a filesystem relay protocol with a mandatory human approval gate before anything executes. The studio itself builds agent-first: CodeStrux products are developed through multi-agent workflows — planning sessions, adversarial design reviews, parallel implementation — with the house stack and design languages codified as portable skills for coding agents.

Previously he was a System Development Engineer at Amazon (Enterprise Service Delivery) and, before that, a Finance BI Engineer at Amazon, with earlier backend and IT/development work in Costa Rica. He works across AWS (Lambda, CDK, Glue, Redshift, QuickSight, Batch, Lake Formation, S3, Bedrock), data pipelines and BI, Java/Spring, TypeScript, React and Next.js, and Docker/Kubernetes.

Alvaro Araya Obando

Backend and Infrastructure Engineer · co-founder · aao@codestrux.tech

Alvaro Araya Obando is Co-Founder of Codestrux Tech, a software studio focused on the architecture and implementation of cloud-native, scalable, high-availability applications. Through Codestrux, he provides consulting services to private companies and government institutions on the design and implementation of open-source software architectures. He is the author of codestrux-ce, the company's electronic-invoicing engine for Costa Rica.

A senior software developer and network administrator, Alvaro has worked with open-source software since 1998. Java is his primary development language — he has taught Java Web and Java Enterprise courses. His dual background in development and systems administration allows him to deliver end-to-end solutions across on-premises and cloud environments built on Linux and BSD platforms. His expertise also extends to cybersecurity with a focus on secure software development, and to the implementation of VoIP services.

In July 2019, he won first place in the Hackathon on Improving Public Financial Management Through Technology, organized by Costa Rica's Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund, with a solution built entirely on open-source software.

$ cat how-we-work.md

Capabilities at CodeStrux Tech are pooled, not split by person — together we cover infrastructure and operations, cloud and data, backends and frontends, fintech compliance, and AI tooling. For AI embeds we work as Forward Deployed Engineers: an AI engineer paired with an applied industry engineer, shipping to production and handing off to named owners — see services. We collaborate directly with the people we build for, keep our systems open and maintainable, and prefer durable engineering over throwaway work.
